how do expectations effect performance

Like a lot of things, high expectations can go ways, the positive and the negative. Expectations through encouragement might drive someone forward, but if constant annoying nagging is enforcing it, to might cause the complete opposite result. For me my mother nagging me about sleeping early, going as far as to cut the inter, causes me to reject the idea of sleeping early as a form of protest and to fight for the amendments that should be added to the universal declaration of human rights, which is the right for all person in the world to have access to internet. Having very good awards motivates me further, for example the award of a iPod Nano drives me forward to win the English speech contest. In short, if you ever have a child in the future, be sure to use positive encouragement instead of punishments, especially when they are teenagers.
