Both movies use Shakespeare speech, but I find the modern
version one use more quotes from the play than the old version. The old version
is more accurate, with swords and the entire theme put out right. The new
version is weird, however, because it is set in modern time of two different
gangs. The setting was changed to a gas station instead of the old market. And the
weapons changed to guns instead of sword, and the Head of police replaced the
prince. What is really stupid about the modern movie is that when they draw
their gun, they called the gun sword, which is kind of dumb. And if people want
to make a modern version of Romeo and Juliet, they should have at least
bothered to use modern language. I try to like the modern parody of Romeo and Juliet,
but I failed to do so, and I think its ridiculous and boring. It just seems so bizarre
and everything just seemed so fake because no one would speak like that. And I think
the old movies’ Juliet was prettier than the new movie’s. i also find the black guy in bikini quite frightening and weird.

animal farm doublepost
The book, animal farm, is a extended analogy of the
formation and following events of soviet Russia. The author compares the
dictator of the farm: Napoleon with the dictator of Russia:Stalin, he also
compared the Russian citizen with animals of the farm. We all know that both
Russia’s peasants and animals f animal farm are very poorly educated. Would the
scenario be different if they are educated? I do believe so. If the animal in
animal farm at least learned how to read, they will have realized how they have
been abused and how the seven amendments have changed. Due to the fact of the
lack of education, they did not realized they have been manipulated and is
easily tricked by the pigs. Since only the pigs could read, they have to rely
on the pigs to transform the information form paper to words. And since the
pigs were corrupt, all they got was misleading information. If the animals were
educated, they would have realized, using math and measurements, that the amount of food they have was actually
worse than food from Jone times, this will prevent them from being satisfied
with a dysfunctional government and being persuaded by propaganda. The outcome
of the story would have been a lot different, and so would soviet Russia, if
their general population is educated and realize that they are under brainwash.
Although the lack of education might cause napoleon to gain power, the animals’
devoted trust to napoleon also caused napoleons dictatorship. If the animals
would stop to consider, and think twice about squealer’s lies, they would have
realized that the pigs were just exploiting them. Many animals throught this
story mentioned that they remembered the seven commandments differently than
what the pigs announced, sometimes more than one animal voiced their concern.
If they have been less trusting and more logical, they whoudl have realized
that such statement as” no animals should be killed without czuse” is just a
very retarded commandment due to the fact that if this is the commandment,
anyone can kill anything with a reason, even if the reason si that the murderer
is bored. So, education would change the out come of the story greatly, but if
they animals would have voiced their concern, things would go differently as
well.
debate review
So I
think that this debate was quite fun, but I think we got a
lot of things confused, I think that regulation of privacy does not
necessary mean that government would spy on it or anything, merely
preventing and passing laws to prevent your information form spreading. I think
that this debate is pretty fun and yeah, should be done more often. I think our
group did well, and we did a good job describing our stance.
Our rebuttal was kind of weak, though, and I believe that we should
write down the rebuttal next time in order to prevent us from
stumbling and slumbering during our speech. Other than the Rebuttal I
think everything else was fine and our team did a great
job. The opponent team did a great job too, providing valid reasoning and
is great at stirring hysteria and also fear out of its audiences.

is privacy an illusion?
Yes privacy is an illusion, with all the high tech and all
the hidden programs a such, and 80% of our lives is dedicated to electronics
and such, I believed that there is no longer privacy. Just look at Google,
Google stores history on every website you use on it, so Google can know what
your hobby is what time you actually do your homework, and information you
don’t want to share to people. Secret intelligence now have spy drones and
satelight tracking. The US governemtn even send a picture og Gadaffi taking a
dump just to warn him! Who is to say that the government wont do the same thing
to us? With so much high tech the government can easny snuck in a spy ware for
every computer and get in data, and there is a very high possibility that it can
access the computer’s camera and take a photo of u to spy. I Know I sound
lieka conspiracy theorist here, but all
of theses are highly likely and easy to be achieved
